Rookie Fabrics Dylan Larkin

2015-16 Upper Deck SPX Hockey Dylan Larkin Rookie Fabrics

For my first hockey card review on this blog, I will be reviewing one of the higher-end cards in my collection. This card has a "Dylan Larkin Event-Used hockey memorabilia certified to have been used in a rookie photo shoot.", according to the card.

Obviously, the player on the card is Dylan Larkin, a forward for the Detroit Red Wings. He played college hockey For the University of Michigan Wolverines. The card is a card from his rookie year, 2015-16 where he was one of the leading scorers and point-getters in the 2015-16 rookie class.

As you can tell, the card has a pretty sizeable jersey piece, which is nice. The card design is very nice and it has all the elements a Jersey card should have. A jersey (obviously), a subset name (rookie fabric), the player, the team, his or her position, the team logo, the set logo or company logo, and a picture of the player. I like that there is a border separating the jersey, subset name, and the team logo between the rest of the card. I think the colours on the card are very nice, too.

I had originally bought the card for $15, which is about how much you could ask for this card at the cheapest price, but if you wanted to make a few bucks, you could could probably get away with selling it for $20 if you found the right buyer.

The only thing this card could improve on is the fact that the words "Rookie Fabric" and the "SPX" logo are hard to read. I understand that they are trying to get the red colour to stand out, but I think even if they are thinly outlined in black, it would make the card better.

Overall Card Score:

9.5/10
